Wendy transplanted from the Pacific Northwest to Middle Tennessee in 2003, retiring from a rewarding career in maternal-infant nursing. Following a deep desire to create art, she began oil painting in 2009, studying with locally and internationally known instructors. Her steady growth as an artist is reflected in the mastering of color and value in her paintings. She strives to capture and isolate a moment of life to bring out its uniqueness and beauty, whether it’s a city scene, a sunset, or a field of tulips. Her hope and goal is to communicate joy and light through her art.
Wendy paints regularly in her home studio and also ventures out into the elements to paint Plein Air. She has studied/taken workshops with Mary Miller Veazie, Roger Dale Brown, Colley Whisson, Anne Blair Brown and spends countless hours in personal study of master artists’ instruction. Wendy participates in local and regional artist exhibits and serves on the Board of Directors for Monthaven Art Society in Hendersonville, Tennessee.
