Jimmie,originally from Alabama, currently lives in Hendersonville with her husband, Philip.  After the untimely death of her youngest son, she began working in art as part of the healing process.

Since 2005 Roberson has been studying with local artist and teacher, Christine Pilkinton.  She has also studied watercolor painting with Harriet Parrish & Jean Parker and oil painting with Bob Hollingsworth, all Tennessee artists.  She participates in a weekly drawing class with Dr. Randy Carden at her church.  In addition, she has taken workshops with such noted artists as MIchael Shane Neal, Dawn Whitelaw, and Igor Babailov.  Neal won the Portrait Society's 2001 International Portrait Competition.  Whitelaw is a former Lipscomb University art instructor who is nationally known.  Babailov is the internationally known portrait and figurative Russian artist who has painted popes and presidents, as well as many celebrities.

Ms. Roberson paints realistically in the tradition of the Old Masters and has taken oils as her medium of choice.  She paints still lifes, landscapes, and is especially gifted in rendering portraits with personality and charm.
